Posterior Laminectomy:

• Approach: This technique employs a rear approach to access the thoracic spine.
• Procedure: The operation involves exposing the edge of the spinal cord and removing disc fragments.
• Stabilization: Metal hardware may be inserted to perform a posterior thoracic fusion for spinal stabilization if necessary.

Objectives and Considerations:

The prime objective of thoracic spine surgery is to preclude any damage to the spinal cord, mainly when other alternatives are not available.
